Learning music as a baby and toddler can assist children not only to learn music but also to get them into a routine. The neural connections in children are greatest between the age of 0-7. Music contributes to the rich sensory environment of taste, smell, colours and sounds that are available to children to help them to create more pathways between the cells in their brains. These neural connections help children in almost every area of school to include reading and maths.
Between the ages of 1 and 3, children respond best to music when they actively experience it. Passive listening (like in the car) is fine, but you need to get your toddler rocking, marching, rolling, tapping, clapping, and moving to the beat and that is what I do in the Magic World of Music Mum and Toddler’s class, so why not come and join us and together we can discover your toddlers inner composer, conductor, singer or chorister and at the same time help them develop reading and math’s skills. When attending the class please wear comfortable clothes and bring your toddler’s favourite soft toy.
