Why choose me to teach you?

Deborah Aloba Singing TeacherWith almost 20 years experience as a singer and vocal coach I am passionate about teaching you methods which will release your voice and help you sing to the best of your ability. Whether you are a beginner or at an intermediate or advanced level of singing and performing, my aim is to help you to reach your singing goals.

If you’re new to singing, it’s important that you’re taught the fundamentals correctly. If you have been searching the net, looking for advice on how to sing, then look no further. You will already know that there’s a lot of conflicting advice out there.

I consider that it is essential that you understand and use your voice in a way which ensures that it is protected from the damage that can be caused as a result of incorrect singing. I believe it is important that you understand the physiology and anatomy of how the voice works and that such knowledge gives you control over your voice.  I have an enhanced DBS Certificate.

I teach opera, musical theatre, jazz, blues and spirituals in  London and Chelmsford and via Skype.

Five tips to help you sing to the best of your ability

  1. Ensure that you are breathing correctly and that your voice is supported by the diaphragm
  2. Ensure that you keep your soft pallette raised
  3. Make sure that your tongue is flat and plcaed lightly against the lower teeth when you sing
  4. Sing with a loose jaw
  5. Try to make sure that your diction is very clear when you sing
